On 6 March 2025, the Centre for European Transformation (CfET) convened its 2nd Annual Conference, bringing together experts, policymakers, and industry leaders to explore the financing of Europe’s transformation amidst ongoing geopolitical challenges. The timing of the event was particularly relevant, coming just days after German politician Friedrich Merz announced a significant debt and spending package focused on defense and infrastructure.
The conference featured vibrant discussions that were both insightful and optimistic. Key takeaways included the recognition that Europe already possesses the necessary resources for transformation, but decisive action is required to harness them. Additionally, shifting focus from risks to opportunities can drive impactful change. The robust educational systems and vast potential for innovation and research & development were highlighted as core strengths of Europe.
The conference concluded on a note of gratitude to all attendees and contributors, whose meaningful discussions are anticipated to inspire future action. We would like to extend our special appreciation to our partners, including DWS as a sponsor and Börsen-Zeitung as a media partner, for their invaluable support in making this event a success.
Stay tuned for updates on the next conference, where we will continue to explore the most pressing issues and solutions for a transformative Europe.
